Fond Volume 2 includes bits that relate to measuring - a clock, a thermometer, a compass, a die, a bubble level, presented in three small shadow boxes. The boxes are bound across the spine with a stiff strap and crossed-stitch pattern, and attached to wooden boards with brass nails.

In archival science, a fonds is the aggregation of documents that originate from the same source and is distinguished from a collection through its organic nature, a natural accumulation, in this case, by an individual (myself), as a byproduct of day-to-day activities. I think of the works in the Fonds series as a portable and tidy junk drawer; a seemingly random, but nonetheless specifically selected for any number of personal criteria. collection of small things.
